LOKBOX

No fake EFTs. No dodgy meetups. Just safe tech trading.

Mzansi's safest peer-to-peer electronics marketplace. We lock the buyer's funds in our secure Escrow Vault until the item is delivered via Pudo.

The Broken Market (And How We Fix It)

The Problem: Trading tech in Mzansi is stressful and dangerous.
Trying to sell a high-value item like an iPhone or MacBook on Facebook Marketplace or Gumtree means exposing yourself to serious risk. You have to deal with:
The Fake POP: Scammers sending doctored Proof of Payment SMSs from "Standard Bank" or "FNB" and demanding immediate handover. The "Uber Driver" Scam: Buyers refusing to meet, sending a driver to collect the item before the funds have actually cleared in your account. The Physical Risk: Meeting a complete stranger in a parking lot with R15,000 in cash or high-end electronics. The Solution: Lokbox acts as your secure, verified middleman.
We take the "stranger danger" out of buying and selling second-hand electronics. You never have to trust the other person—you only have to trust the Lokbox Vault.
🔒 The Escrow Vault: The buyer pays Lokbox via instant EFT or card. We lock the funds in our secure, FICA-compliant vault. The seller knows the money is real before they even pack the box.📦 Contactless Handover: No awkward or dangerous meetups. The seller simply drops the packaged tech at their nearest automated Pudo locker. We handle the tracking.✅ Guaranteed Payouts: Once the buyer receives the item and confirms it matches the description, the funds are instantly released from the Vault directly into the seller's bank account.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much does it cost to use Lokbox?
A: It is 100% free to list your tech on Lokbox. We only make money if you make money. When your item is successfully sold and delivered, we charge a flat 5% success fee. Buyers pay a small 3% buyer protection fee at checkout, which guarantees their funds are safe.
Q: As a seller, how do I know the buyer's money is real?
A: You will never have to check a sketchy SMS or "Proof of Payment" again. When a buyer purchases your item, the money goes directly into our secure, FICA-approved Escrow Vault—not the buyer's pocket, and not yours yet. We only instruct you to drop the item at Pudo after we have mathematically verified the cash is locked in the vault.
Q: As a buyer, what if the seller sends me a broken item (or a brick)?
A: This is exactly why Lokbox exists. The seller does not get paid until you receive the package from the Pudo locker and inspect the item. You have a 24-hour window to confirm the tech matches the description. If it’s broken or fake, you report an issue, and your money remains locked safely in the vault while our local team handles the dispute and refund.
Q: How does the shipping actually work?
A: We use Pudo (by The Courier Guy) for contactless, secure delivery. Once the buyer's funds are locked in Escrow, we generate a prepaid waybill. The seller simply prints it, sticks it on the box, and drops it off at their nearest Pudo locker. The buyer tracks the parcel in real-time until it arrives at their chosen locker. No awkward meetups required.
